Local Authority Approval

There are many licenses and approvals must be obtained before you can running your business legally in Malaysia, especially in manufacturing sector. Licenses only will be issued to business owner only if all requirements has been fulfilled. 


BUSINESS LICENSE 

 

Manufacturer are required to apply business license from respective local council authority.
The requirements for the business license may vary in each local authority. Manufacturer must get the prior approval / supporting letter from 
❶ Department of Environment (DOE);
❷ Department of Occupational Health and Safety (DOSH) and
❸ Fire and Rescue Department (FIRE)
before the submission of Business License application.

LICENSE MANUFACTURING WAREHOUSE (LMW) LICENSE

Custom Department Malaysia grant import duty exemption to raw materials and machineries/equipment used in the manufacturing process for manufacturer with LMW license. LMW is a facility provided for export oriented companies where 80% of the finished products must be exported or sell to another LMW companies.

MANUFACTURING LICENSE


A Manufacturer is required to obtain manufacturing license from Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA).

WORK PERMITS

Foreigners who enter Malaysia to take up employment must obtain a valid Employment Pass before the employment begins. All Employment Pass will be issued by Ministry of Home Affairs and managed by Immigration Department.
